It’s Thursday, and that means a new Halo Weekly update! This week, we’ve had some info on a new book partnership, as well as the results of the highly popular Spartan Bowl playlist and some upcoming matchmaking updates. Read on for more!
Monday 3rd’s update saw two additions to the War Games lineup. The first was Team Heavies, a playlist filled with Slayer and King of the Hill action, with heavy weapons and vehicles aplenty, including the Mantis, Scorpion and Wraith! This playlist will be available until February 17th, so there is still over a week to work on those vehicle commendations and perhaps even get some DLC achievements!
The winner of the last Community Choice poll, SWAT CTF, was the second gametype to be added, and can be found in the main SWAT playlist. Speaking of which, here’s your next Community Choice!
The featured playlist to be added on the 17th is Big Rumble, a 12 player FFA playlist with more details coming next week, and it’s up to the community to decide which gametype should be added out of the following:
A brand new game type to Halo 4, Quick Draw lets players battle it out with just Magnums, Frag Grenades, and the Dexterity Support Upgrade. In Quick Draw, the fastest on the trigger will emerge victorious.
Originally announced as part of the Oddball playlist last October, Stickyball equips players with the Sticky Detonator and Plasma Grenades. In an FFA setting, there are even more explosions, frantic escapes, and things getting stuck to other things. It’s messy, good fun.
There’s no doubt that 12-player FFA is already a party, but add in random weapons, and you’ve got a real Fiesta. Players respawn with random primary and secondary weapons.

Spartan Bowl Results
Hopefully you all got to have a go at the Spartan Bowl playlist, Halo’s answer to the Super Bowl event that took place a little over a week ago. As most will know, the Seahawks emerged victorious in the real thing, but the results of Spartan Bowl tell another story…
As you can see, the Broncos-themed Red Team ended up being the overall winners on the Halo side of things. Regardless, the playlist was very popular and well received, so it’s a safe bet that we’ll be seeing more of this in the future!
This week saw the announcement of a new co-publishing program with 343 Industries and Gallery Books. This is a multi-year program, with the first release aimed at Fall 2014!
That’s all for this week. Check out the latest Halo Bulletin for a preview of the upcoming Gamers For Giving event this weekend, a little Valentine-related contest and the Screenshot Spotlight for this week, featuring heavy vehicles!
Until next week!
