Featured RULer: Foundation Afro

If you haven’t seen our next Featured RULer around the site frequently replying to threads, talking in the chatbox, or even posting about RUL on Twitter, you’ve probably been living under a rock or have managed to somehow look past the many stages and transformations of his signature afro-y epicness. Please put your hands together and congratulate Ready Up Live’s next Featured RULer: Foundation Afro!!

What got you to first sign up to ReadyUpLive?

Around the time Halo CE: Anniversary came out, I was looking for skull-finding videos, and I found Nak3d Eli’s channel and subscribed to it. Later, Eli and Greenskull made some videos together where they went around finding easter eggs in Halo: Reach, and I learned about the Ready Up Live Youtube channel. I checked out a few videos, liked what I saw, and decided to sign up for the forum.

You get to play one title for the rest of your life, what would it be?

That’s a tough question. I think it would have to be Roller Coaster Tycoon, or a game in the series. RTC is already one of my favourite video games, and its sandbox game structure would allow for a lot more re-playability than would a campaign game or even a multiplayer game.

A persons gamertag can show a lot about someone, how did you come up with yours?

Well, as I’m sure many RULers know, I can grow a big afro when my hair is long. As for the Foundation part, that just comes from my favourite book series, Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series. So I just put the two together and got Foundation Afro. I also kind of like that it implies that my afro is my foundation, ha ha.

What hobbies do you have outside of gaming?

Biking would probably be the main one, and certainly guitar. I like to read, and I’m a comics nerd (I’m just a nerd in general). I’m also very interested in politics, and think that more people should pay attention to it, especially people my age. As you may know I also have a Youtube channel, which while small, I keep up simply because I enjoy making videos. I’m sure there are more but I can’t think of them, I’m always bad at this question.

If you could meet a character from any game, who would it be and why?

Probably Dogmeat from Fallout III. If I had to wander around with anyone in a nuclear wasteland, it would be a pup.

Preferred drink during a gaming session?

Probably espresso or carbonated water, depends what kind of mood I’m.

What is your favorite genre of music?

Rock, especially classic rock.

What is your favorite movie?

Castle in the Sky.

If you were captain of a ship, what would you call it?

Like, a sea-faring ship or a spaceship? I’ve always wanted to write this science fiction story with a ship in it called the ECPCS Pinnacle of Time, so I’d probably choose that. No idea why, I’ve just always thought that was a cool name. (For those of you who are wondering, ECPCS stands for Earth Colonial Passenger-Class Service).

What video game universe would you want to live in and why?

Probably the Zelda universe (preferably the Majora’s Mask timeline, certainly not the Wind Waker timeline because I don’t want to live on the ocean). It has a lot of different and interesting species, and some great sights to see. Plus, I’d get rich just by mowing the lawn.

If you could breed two animals together to defy the laws of nature what new animal would you create?

Hmm, I suppose humans technically are animals, and if I could breed them with cougars to make a ruthless, intelligent fighting machine….

No, I won’t go there, ha ha. I’d say a dog and a chimp, then I could have a super-intelligent dog. Instead of playing fetch we could play checkers.

If you could invite 3 famous people, living or dead, to dinner, who would you invite?

I’d say Morgan Freeman, Isaac Asimov, and Isaac Newton. I seem to like my Isaacs, don’t I?

Congratulations again! Any last words you’d like to say?

I’d just like to thank you for choosing me as the Featured RULer. I’d like to thank Greenskull and all the admins for building the site and making it what it is today, and of course all the members of Ready Up Live who make this the best Xbox community on the web, and so much more. When I came just under two years ago RUL was really excited about Halo 4, but since then it’s branched from what I thought would be really Halo- and Xbox-heavy site has turned into an awesome community in so many respects. Thanks a bunch to all of you!
