Rumors about the cast of Star Wars Episode VII have been circling since the day it was announced back in 2012 – finally we have some confirmation!
Episode VII, said to take place around 35 years after Return of the Jedi, will feature a whole host of new actors and characters, who will be starring alongside some very familiar faces and voices from the original trilogy.
John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will all be playing prominent roles in the new film, with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker all returning from the original trilogy to once again play the roles of their characters – Han Solo, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, Chewbacca and R2-D2 respectively.
The film’s director, J.J. Abrams, said: “It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”
With an all-star cast, returning fan-favorite characters, and John Williams once again composing the film’s soundtrack, this first entry into the new sequel trilogy is well on its way to being a fantastic film worthy of bearing the prestigious Star Wars name.
Star Wars Episode VII will release worldwide on December 18th, 2015.
