This morning, at 5:59AM EDT, –An epic time for an epic announcement– Microsoft and 343 Industries revealed the future of the Halo franchise. Halo 5: Guardians will launch exclusively for the Xbox One in Fall 2015.
Halo 5 will be a game that “demonstrates the talent, learnings and abilities of the 343 Industries team.” Halo 5 is being developed using a brand new engine designed from the ground up, and will utilize 343’s collective knowledge from Halo 4 to improve upon things like technology, aesthetics, performance and scale. In the statement given this morning, Bonnie Ross stated:
““Halo 5: Guardians” is a bigger effort than “Halo 4.” That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.”
Halo 5: Guardians will undoubtedly be an epic game, one that shakes the foundation of the Halo franchise, and hopefully one we can all enjoy, together.
