[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Forza Horizon 2’s Storm Island DLC is the culmination of all of the best parts of the main game tossed into a blender and set to puree, offering the best experience that Horizon 2 has to offer.
Storm Island adds many things you wanted more of from the main title, like Bucket List challenges and Speed Traps but now also offers the complete thrill of racing in the harshest conditions the Forza franchise has ever experienced. Point-to-point races through muddy off-road tracks where one bad turn can mean the end of your series, but also means a lot more fun through those same turns. The damp raceways make your car more “drifty” and makes you want to attempt turns at speeds you wouldn’t dare otherwise. It’s a rally fan’s dream come true.
My journey on Storm Island began in my Evo 10 GSR where I immediately tricked it out with all of the appropriate, Storm Island exclusive, off-road rally upgrades and hit up my first championship series! As soon as I began I could feel the differences on my car. Traction was harder to gain, visibility was lower and corners were both my best friend and my worst enemy, I knew I had a huge smile on my face despite being enthralled in my race.
After participating in, and winning, a couple of championship series, I entered into my first Gauntlet race. Gauntlet races, exclusive to the Storm Island DLC, are long point-to-point races in extreme conditions that only take place at night and provide little warning for upcoming turns. Despite these extreme conditions, the race placed me in the Robby Gordon #7 Speed Energy Drink Stadium Super Truck… Super Truck. The race was intense from the get go where the powerful truck struggled to get off the line with any kind of traction, but once I was moving, stopping was almost impossible. Occasional obstacles had me bullying the AI drivers for priority through the single lane hindrances, and the race came down to the FINAL TURN where I finally overtook the lead driver and won the race.
In addition to Gauntlets, Storm Island also adds 4 other new game modes to the game! Those are:
Rampage – Short point-to-point races filled with obstacles
Brawl – Rampages, but in circuit form!
Extreme Cross Country – Long races with constantly changing terrain. Good luck finding the perfect tune job for these!
Cross Country Circuit – Extreme Cross Country but with laps
Also included in the DLC are 5 new off-road/rally-centric cars, including my baby, the 1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4.
Storm Island’s name is anything but misleading. Torrential downpours plague the island like salt plagues southern food and plumes of fog sometimes keep visibility barely above zero, conditions almost anyone in real life would avoid. Luckily, this isn’t real life and the conditions in the game make for the most epic races in Forza history![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]
