After numerous rumours and leaks pertaining to setting and name, the next Assassin’s Creed game has been officially announced.
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, set in 1868’s Victorian London, puts you in the shoes of not one, but two Assassins – Jacob & Evie Frye. Jacob is said to be the more hot-headed and rebellious character, whilst Evie is described as being stealthier and the more relentless Assassin. Story-based missions will dictate which character to play as whilst free-roam will give players free choice of character.
Syndicate will see our new characters team up with famous Victorians like Darwin and Dickens as they lead an uprising against a Templar-fuelled establishment that preys on the poor in order to profit at the height of the Industrial Revolution.
The game world itself is comprised of 6 boroughs (London City, the Strand, Westminster, Whitechapel, Lambeth & Southwark) and is 30% larger than the playable world in Unity, according to Ubisoft. As a result, the game is single-player-only, which has reportedly allowed the development team to be able to focus on creating the biggest open world city ever built for an Assassin’s Creed game.

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is set to release on October 23rd for Xbox One & PS4, with a PC release to come later in the season.
