It has surfaced through a recent Tweet by Josh Holmes, Halo 5 Studio Head, that Guardians’ multiplayer suite will not use a voting system for map selection.
Responding to a fan question, Holmes simply said:
No voting or veto, just straight rotation.
Whilst some will be sad to see this common feature go, as it allows for fans to sway map selection towards maps they prefer, it does eliminate the inevitable issue of certain community-favourite maps becoming overplayed. As a result, fans will be able to enjoy a more rounded experience of the range of maps available in the game.
Halo 5: Guardians will launch on October 27th with 20 multiplayer maps (between Arena and Warzone). A further 15 will be added in free downloadable expansions in the following months. The game will feature no Big Team Battle maps at launch, however the expansions will include maps specifically designed for the mode.
Do you think this is a good decision or are you sad to see voting go? Why?
