The Tomorrow trailer for Gears of War 4 launched earlier today, showing Marcus Fenix on his family farm, long after the events of the original trilogy. He plants a tree, interlaced with shots of a soldier running through a forest. As Marcus carves the initials of his son JD into the tree, we return to the soldier finding the farm, abandoned. He takes cover behind an overturned log, and shoots an enemy that leaps at him. The camera then pans across the log to show the initials JDF carved into it. The soldier’s initials.
Gears of War 4 takes place twenty-five years after the original trilogy, as Marcus Fenix’s son JD investigates a series of mysterious disappearances, while searching for the source of a new enemy. JD battles alongside his childhoold friends Kait and Del as they work to stop a new threat to humanity, a quarter century after his father brought peace to the world.
Gears of War 4 launches on October 11 of this year. Fans can also look forward to a public multiplayer beta coming out later this month, launching on April 18 for those who have played the Gears of War Ultimate Edition by today (April 11), and on the 25th to all Xbox Live members.
