That's right, The Orange Box will be arriving tomorrow, and what's better than getting 5 amazing games for $60...all on one disc. The Box is so big (not physically) that reviews haven't even gone up yet.
For those who have no clue about what I'm talking about, The Orange Box is a game for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 (due later this year) developed by Valve and published by EA. It includes 5 full games: Half-life 2, Episode One and Two (basically Half-life 3 split into 3 parts, with the 3rd episode still in development), Portal (a first-person puzzle game), and Team Fortress 2 (online multiplayer team warfare). The Half-life story is very long, so for those unfamiliar with the series, check out the official site (http://orange.half-life2.com/tf2.html)for a brief overview on each game.
Once you get a hand on your copy, post your thoughts and opinions. Hopefully, if I finish the games (which is unlikely), I'll have my review up this weekend. For those of you who have enjoyed the Half-life games, there is absolutely no reason as to why you shouldn't pick this one up. I highly recommend buying it, because of the great value you're getting, as well as the several number of hours you'll spend before actually getting bored of it.
And for those who have no clue, and still enjoy the average first-person shooter, go ahead, give it a try and open up The Orange Box...

(To those still trying to process the above image : No, it doesn't actually look like that, it's just one disc in a regular Xbox 360 game case)

Team Fortress 2 isn't running on EA Servers, only on Valve's servers...so you have nothing to worry about

Yea...for sure. I just finished playing a bit of it, and all I can say is that it is the only videogame I've bought that has been worth every penny I paid for it. I'll save the rest for my review, which will definitely be going up on the weekend since I'll most likely finish HL2, Episode 1&2 and Portal by then.
WE ALL need to get together later this week and play some Team Fortress 2. Honestly, it's just as good as Halo 3 multiplayer.

Wow, this is making me want it sooooo bad! I am almost 100% sure that my mom went out and got it last night because she left right after I told her it came out and the day before she told me it wanst out yet. Then when she came home, she had a bag hidden in her coat and she came into my room...good hiding skills. I guess I will have to wait another 2.5 months....:(

I love this game. Worth every penny. I started playing half life 2 but then stopped about half way through. Since I've beaten it on the PC already. Its sorta boring for me. So I went and beat episode 1. Gonna start episode 2 on Sunday. Beat portals already. Pretty fun but I would have liked it to be a little longer. TF2 RULES!!! Although gets laggy quite often.

I'm really enjoying it as well...
I'm thinking of doing a Team Fortress 2 night this Friday, Oct. 19 at around 9pm EST with everyone from the RUL and Xbox.com community. So hopefully most of you guys will get your copy by then. Just send me a friend request (don't forget to attach a short message).

Yea, no problem...I like this idea of RUL night, and I'll definitely be there.
uod Semper, make sure you get The Orange Box by then or else you'll be a huge disappointment to the RUL community.

Sorry for the bump... i went to microplay like 5 times, and they kept telling me outof stock. so i call them a week later cuz i'm sick of going in, and they said they never carried the PC version, and never will.
i'm pissed. i'm using up my store credit there and then i'm not shopping there again.

Walmart never seems to run out of new release games for some reason....
