Chapter 4: Unknown project
The odst marine took a look around as I kept my guard “this place had to be used for something” he said as he scavenged through files, another giant loud screech echoed through the lab shaking everything. “That doesn’t sound good we should get out of here and fast” I ordered and headed for the door, as I reached it the ceiling collapsed from the quack and blocked the door nearly crushing me at the same time but I had enough time to roll out of the way. “Sir are you okay!?” asked the marine in a panic “yea I’m fine” I got up and brushed off my armour of dust and looked up at the ceiling, I spotted a big hole in the ceiling about 10 meters wide, whatever made it, it was big and could still be in it. “We should make some cover, whatever that screeching is it’s big and close I’m assuming its above us from the looks of that hole” I explained to the marine.
With one loud bang and crash the remaining lights that were on started to flicker a large creature standing 12 feet with two arm cannons that’s 5 feet in length, large armour like a hunter but highly modified so that nothing is exposed, its huge size makes the ground shake each time it takes a single step unable to say a single word it charged at us, I dove out of the way as the marine unloads a full clip of battle rifle ammo but it had no effect as it bounced off its armour, the creature took one swing with its massive arm and caused the odst marine to go flying 10 feet from where he was standing, he hit the wall so hard, he made a circular type crack in the wall, and fell motionless on the ground. The creature let out a loud screech and charged straight at me, once it got half way to me it lunged with a quick reaction I rolled out of the way again before it slammed its massive hand on the ground making a 3 foot hole “damn how would I get through this”. It quickly turned and swung its arm towards me with a hard hit, it impacted my chest sending me flying crashing through computers and desks, I flipped over landing on the ground and coughed struggling to get up from the devastating blow.
The creature started to charge at me seeing that I was still moving, it lunged again all of a sudden there was a big explosion and it was knocked to the ground “hey are you alright down there!?” asked a man in mark v armour and a katana on his back holding a rocket launcher, I let out another coughed and struggled to get up still as the soldier reloaded his rocket launcher, the creature stood up with a loud growl followed by a screech that shook the room again it then charged its massive cannons and fired at the soldier a large green beam left the gun in a blink of an eye, the soldier quickly jump out of the way but the creature fired its second cannon that surely hit the soldier a big explosion filled the spot where he was standing and a lot of smoke the creature roared victories as it turned its attention back to me. “Hey big guy you missed!” as the dust cleared, the soldier was standing unscratched, the creature quickly turned just to get a rocket to the head sending its helmet flying off, it roared again and picked up the lifeless body of the odst marine and threw it at the soldier but landed a foot away from the soldier “was that necessary?” asked the soldier in a taunting voice. The creature aimed its cannon at the soldier again and started to charge it, the soldier quickly fired his rocket launcher at the cannon causing it to explode, the shrapnel scratched the creatures armour and scratched its face as it let out a loud screech the soldier reloaded his rocket launcher with the last rocket he had.
The creature started to charge the soldier snarling as it does, as it reached the soldier it swung his massive arm down to crush him, the soldier quickly rolled out of the way and with a precise aim, fired at the creatures head, there was a big explosion followed by mucus and brains flying all over the place its body twitched and collapsed to the ground causing the ground to shake beneath our feet. The soldier quickly rushed towards me and helped me sit up my armour massively damaged and sparked a big dent and cracks filled my chest armour. “Hey are you alright? There’s not much time for proper introductions but I’m lucky” the soldier said with a concerned tone, I coughed and replied “Drakgo...” he helped me stand up and sat me on a chair and inspected my armour “well you’re lucky that your armour was modified or you would’ve been killed” stated lucky. “Tell me about it we will need to find someone that can fix this it won’t last long for the next encounter” I stated also, “I can try and fix it we can use the armour off that creature to make a new one for you” luck explained in a scientific tone. “If you can do it then do it we should be safe here for the time being” I wasn’t planning on staying in one spot for a long time but no one was in the condition to press forward especially since we didn’t know what lies ahead.
