The lord of the rings trilogy is one of the longest ever, in fact I watched them all in a row once and it took like 10 hours, but theyre great movies and books...if you can pay attention, so let me know what you think and what some of your favorite quotes are

I usually try to watch all three in December around Christmas time when I have time off. After you finish the last one, you have to detox from it for another year.

My favorite quotes:

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve!"

"Nobody tosses a dwarf!"

"What's 'taters', precious?"

"Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day!"

I liked the amazing battle of pelennor fields: The Return of the King, when Gandalf kills the Balrog: The Fellowship/the Two Towers, the departure of Boromir: the Fellowship, and the Riders of Rohan: the Two Towers...my favorite qoute: you can/shall not pass!!! -Gandalf

I've seen about 3 full days of LOTR in my short lifetime, it's been a while now though. You have to love that Balrog, totally sick like that giant army of urks and stuff. Most of the time I'm rooting for the bad guy, I just love large armies I guess.

I can't think of any good quotes but I know there in there.

Actually I have read all three books and the Hobbit some while ago, its just that most other people havent so they cant relate to them.

I would guess that 80% of the people here would not even understand the books if they tried to read them.

lol that's harsh. I've read the Return of the king, but it was pretty boring to me. I just don't like reading all that much. I'm sure most people don't though.

I am not trying to be harsh either. I am talking REALLY understand them. Looking past the text to see what the true meaning behind the words are is difficult for a lot of people. I struggled with the subplot/ dual meanings in parts, and I am a Junior in College.
