In my opinion this tournament is flawed. The 16 man slayer on Sandtrap?! You should have the whole tournament be numerous rounds all with 7-8 players doing MLG FFA. And the 2v2v2v2 is flawed as well. What if you get stuck with a horrible team mate? You're not going to move on and that is quite unfair. I mean it goes for a 16 man ffa to a 8v8 then a 2v2v2v2 and finally 1v1. It just doesn't seem very well put together. Just my opinion... maybe next tournament can be changed. I have never seen a tourney done like this and it is quite odd.

okay to combat your points there:

1. I can't stand MLG. I absolutely despise it. I should have made this clear it's more of a casual tournament.

2. This has actually taken almost a year to plan, far more than any other tournaments you've heard of, just ask some XCT veterans how long ago I talked about a Halo 3 tourney.

3. I will watch every single game to see how people are playing. Who wouldn't want to win? If they make it to the second round and aren't amazing, there is obviously something wrong.

4. What's wrong with different? Many people I've planned with either don't like FFA games or don't like team games, this evens it out. This is a unique sort of tournament.

5. Trust me! I've been doing tournaments for years now with Microsoft Canada backing me. To get support from Microsoft and have tons of followers, I must know what I'm doing.

Yes. I see your point. Not everyone likes MLG and all that. But let's just say somehow there's this lucky person that's always in the right spot at the right time. And they get enough kills to keep moving on and eventually they are in the 2v2v2v2. And they get stuck with me. They aren't good and there aren't going to be any more situations where they can just steal other peoples kills. I find it very unfair being paired up with a random person who could be amazing or having next to no skill. Because if the latter is the case. 1 person isn't going to be able to win the game.

If you win with someone whos no good you deserve to win the whole thing. I think this way is more fair because the lesser skilled players with have a better chance at getting first or second. You have to be at least mediocre and able to get kills just to be in the top 4.

I for one know I won't be the best player in this tournament, but I also am fairly confident I won't be the worst either. I am happy that this format kind of evens out the skill differential. This doesn't seem to be just a competitive tournament, but for fun also so there shouldn't be any reason to be upset. This isn't MLG, I am quite certain most players are just playing for fun and with the high hopes they might win. If I am lucky enough to get through the first round then I would be happy.

Yes with a good team/teammate you can get far and I like that. As long as everyone can have a chance at winning. Its not like your winning a thousand dollars, the prizes are good but not enough to worry this much about. It will be a good time and I am looking forward to it.:)

The game starts off as a free for all, just as any good tournament should...yes, 16 players is crazy hectic, but Sandtrap should be able to accomodate it...

first round over, half the people are cut. Now lets say the second half that survived, are the best of the bunch...Green could have choosen another free for all, but more skills need to be tested. Now for the team based games. 8 vs 8 is good, and it allows everyone to learn how to work together. One team wins and moves on (no different than 4 vs 4 slayer games)

now comes the 2 vs 2 vs 2 vs 2...according to darwin, we should now have the best of the bunch...and everyone has had an oppurtunity to play as a team...you should be paired with someone who is decent, if not as good as you...this is your last chance to make it to the finals...one team must win!

now we have the 1 vs 1...these two are the best of the best...and not only that...they know how each other plays....its the last struggle between each other.

On top of all that, this tourny is more casual and "fun" oriented than anything MLG has. And if you really think about the layout of it, its actually genious...

This is the worst tournament I have ever played in, I have never played a tournament where the 12 year old tournament host plays in the game. How sad is that the 12 year old tournament host, which is playing in the game, start to trash talk you during the game. Its pathetic when the host gives the leader of the game 6 kills, the host which is not even supposed to be playing in the game. Worst tournament EVER!

Yea. My predictions came true. 2nd round was going to be horrible. I knew I was going to get stuck with the lesser players of the bunch. And I did. Not saying they are all bad.. we partly lost because of vehicle whores on the other team. But this was pretty ***. It should at least have been top 4 from each team. Not a whole team moves on.

Next time make it 8 man mlg ffa or 4v4 mlg.

Tourneys need to be based on a players skill not if you can spawn kill with the banshee or have your team carry you to the next round.

Well, both teams had the same vehicles, we were both fighting for 50 kills and we both had equal players. It is not like the winning team had 6 more vehicles, 13 more players and only had to get 10 kills. This was fair even though it may have been short. This was a free tourny with prizes purchased with Greenskulls own money so there should be no complaining. If you didnt like the was it ran, why did you join. There are plenty of other people who would have loved to just be there to play. I knew I wasnt going to win, I was there for the fun. So common guys, stop being pathetic and please dont sign up for anymore tournaments if you are going to wine about once you are kicked out. Act mature.

This tourny was not set up right.

Ok, round one was great, it was FFA sandtrap and came pretty even in the 4 5 6 7 slots because they came pretty close. I got second place that round and moved on.

So round two started and it was an 8v8 Valhalla.
I did win this, but there were some major things that needed some fixing..

2. Vehicles were on the map, which is completely unfair. We got a HUGE break when one of the other players rushed middle with the banshee and I shot it down with the Missile pod. We got lazer and it was over.

Then it was round 3 time, and this was BY FAR the worst. For all you who didnt make it there because of round two or one, read this...

It was a 2v2v2v2 on Isolation. LAGGY AS ANYTHING. One of the teams won ( duh ) and then we got RuL back in the party and told him what happened. So we decided to do a rematch type of thing, but the games kept lagging. We got one game to come out green bar and a different team won, but really all it was was kill jacking and luck-of-the-spawn.

Who in their right mind has a 2v2v2v2 and thinks that it shows the skill? DUR..

Next time try a FFA the pit, first to 50. Best two moving on.

Or even a 4v4 TS winners make teams according to RuL, then a 2v2, and a 1v1 for the final.


He set this thing up in a total of like 5 minutes. And for all you saying he paid for the prizes, he didn't, he got them for free ( well at least the expensive ones ). When your giving like 200 $ value of stuff, make it more fair and not having some BS outcome.


Havok Angel was easily the best there, and nuke128 was a second account fag so he got a 50 on his team for the 2v2v2v2.

this is the first active RUL halo 3 tournament....yes things went bad some went for worse....but as we go on in the future of RUL gaming we intend to make tournaments better by learning from our mistakes....dont criticize SKull cause he didnt set stuff up right...it was his first tournament he set up and he pocked out his own freebies for you guys....plus we plan on learning from this and making the next ones better....learn from the mistakes and dont complain....SKull it was good i didnt mind it but i do agree with the rest the Valhalla map was a bit overpowered....but we will learn from this and make the next tourny more balanced.......thanks to everyone who participated

If i were to join a ranked game I would see the correct score and the correct vehicles on the map.As for kill-stealing that's pretty much what FFA is about.

I never considered Halo a skilled based game...its something I play with friends for FUN. And thats what Green is trying to do with these tourneys...so Im a little disgusted when I come here (the day before christmas) and see everyone complaining like a bunch of little babies...and T3h boar, this rant isnt directed towards you...just the initial question.

They are made for competitive fun. Prizes being included most of the time. I'm saying EVERY OTHER TOURNEY I have been in was either a ffa or you bring your own 4 man team. So that way you don't get paired up with random people that suck. That message from guy that won? I was in the first round with him and completely dominated him. Think of it this way... would you care if there were no prizes at all? Thats how it was supposed to be, for fun. The prizes were just supposed to be an incentive, not the only thing you were striving for. A lot of us knew we wouldn't be winning the tourny, just that it would be a fun thing to play in and maybe if we got lucky we could go farther.

Your blinded by the fact that you can win something that, might I add you probably already own(legendary). If you could have just enjoyed the experience everyone would have had a much better time. Many people joined the site just for the tourny and I am sure they will never be back until the next one, and I think those are the people that only care about getting prizes. Maybe next time it should be required that people have been on the site for awhile before they can enter a tournament

It was 8v8 right? Exactly like BTB. So it should of been like BTB Valhalla. Score to 100 and No wraiths. It probably would of worked out better on the second round if we just went into BTB.That way everything would be correct and even the teams would be even more random. Anyways sorry about all this. Well I was in the tourny and didn't do as well as I had hoped. (32 kills... needed get that guy in fourth who had 35 kill)

Either way It was fun for me. Even tho I went on a first round knock out I still had a blast.
