UK, December 3, 2007 - Activision Blizzard has confirmed that Call of Duty 5 and Guitar Hero 4 are both in development just hours after news of the company's merger hit the wire. And while the news is unlikely to come as a shock, if Activision Blizzard's recent boasts are anything to go by we could see both of the series reaching bigger and better heights.

Indeed, during a conference call held today Activision CEO Robert Kotick and Jean-Benard Levy spoke of the company's huge projected success and hinted that many of Activision's franchise could learn a lot from the success of World of Warcraft, which has 9.3 million users across the world. More specifically, Kotick expressed a distinct interest in the subscription model employed by the WoW developer, although quite how it will work with Activision's other franchises - including a new racing title from the freshly-acquired Bizarre Creations - remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, World of Warcraft won't be coming to console any time soon, with Levy categorically stating that a current-gen version of the game was most certainly not in the works.

I personally don't like the GH3 songs. GH1 had the best songs for me. I just want more modern, popular stuff.

Just to clear up infinity ward had nothing to do with Call of Duty 3, it was made by Treyarch. Call of Duty 2 & 3 were made by infinity ward. Also Call of Duty 5 has been being made by treyarch since Call of Duty 3,and it might be a WW2 shooter which would ruin the series, since now there taking a step back. We should all be waiting for Call of Duty 6 (if you liked 4), in 2 - 3 years.

Call of Duty 5 - Treyarch (small chance of Infinity Ward)
Call of Duty 3, was not up to par with Call of Duty 3, and had really bad Single Player experience. chances are Treyarch will screw up once again.

i think you meant cod 3 was not up to par with cod 2 and 4.(not 3). But yea i agree with you. Although I liked COD 3s single player and hated the multiplayer.

BTW I call every call of duty made by treyarch COD and every one made by infinity ward CoD. IDK why but its just a small way of showing the difference in quality.

I found the CoD 3 single player game very tedious, repetitive, and felt like such a bore, though that is my personal opinion. Also if you don't have COD 4 get it. (I used your cap method legend).

I actually enjoyed Call of duty 3, but I'm one of the few. It had a good single player in my opinion(although buggy), I even beat it on Veteran(my hardest ahievement to date) and I had lots of fun with multi-player, especially online splitscreen. I was also one of the few who could get ranked to work.

As for Call of Duty 4, It exceeded my expectations for single-player, but I haven't had the chance to play online. I hope CoD 5 is WWII, it's more interesting IMO.

That is were I am at a split. While WW2 os a very interesting topic, there is only so many times that one topic can be done and re-done with different battles between all the war games (aka. CoD, Medal of honour), and I feel that that line was crossed a while back. Just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

If Call of Duty 5 is gonna be as good as the forth edition, I'm sure as hell gonna get a copy! As for GH4, all I can hope for is they actually put GOOD songs and not screw around with the songs either. :o
