How Far Will You Go To Save Someone You Love?
"Experience a gripping psychological thriller filled with innumerable twists and turns, where choices and actions can result in dramatic consequences. Spanning four days of mystery and suspense, the hunt is on for a murderer known only as the Origami Killer - named after his macabre calling card of leaving behind folded paper shapes at crime scenes. Four characters, each following their own leads and with their own motives, must take part in a desperate attempt to prevent the killer from claiming a new victim." - www.PlayStation.com (http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Games/Heavy_Rain/Description)
Heavy Rain may be the push you need to get a PlayStation 3, Heavy Rain is about four characters, a FBI Agent, Private Detective, Civilian, and a Parent. Searching for the Origami Killer which leave his victims stone cold with a orchid on their chest and a Origami bird in their right hand. Heavy Rain isn't one of those normal games, there are no cut-scenes in Heavy Rain rather it's all happening in real time, an example from the demo is answering the screams of someone or simply walking away going about your own business. If you decide to help her you will be met by a rather violent man as you will learn, you will continue through the scene either excelling in the violence or rather "loosing" which could lead to your death as your character may die at any moment in the game.
The control scheme in Heavy Rain is rather questionable but seems to fit exactly into the game with a little bit of time to get used to it. Rather than using the left analog stick to move you use the R2 button as well as the Right analog stick to steer. When entering a scene moment which is unique because you suddenly get access to a lot of camera angles of the conversation or action. You have to control what happens, say you’re about to get hit you get to dodge the shot with a quick movement of the analog stick or any other button it displays or maybe you'll take it in exchange to get to counter?
There have been some questions about Heavy Rains marketing but really its quite interesting. There is the Four Days Challenge (http://www.heavyrainps3.com/) where you must solve a murder of the Origami Killer which expands itself from YouTube to Twitter. There are also the standard leaked footage on YouTube and exclusives such as GameSpots Exclusive at E3
Heavy Rain, in itself seems to have a handle on quite a few people. What about you? How far will you go to save someone you love?
