Hello everyone.

As you may have heard, Rockstar games and Team Bondi is on the task of creating their newest game, L.A. Noire. You may have seen something about it in Gameinformer, or in some other gaming news source.

Now, Gameinformer had a multiple page section on this new game. They played the exclusive demo, and saw first-hand what L.A. Noire is going to be. Since I have not played the demo myself, I'll use much of Gameinformer's thoughts on L.A. Noire in this post.

First of all, let's get familiar with the premise of the game. You can watch the most current trailer for the game here: http://www.rockstargames.com/lanoire/splash.html.

The game itself is going to be an open-world detective drama that's set in 1940's L.A. You play as a detective: solving crimes, chasing down bad guys, using pieces of the puzzle to solve great mysteries, etc etc. You accomplish those tasks by doing the basic detective stuff: interrogating people, searching for clues, and anything else you can do to help solve the crime.

Now, Rockstar has announced that the gameplay is going to be very unique. And by unique, I mean unique. Its open-world, so you get the feel of being able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. I'm sure there will be side-quests to play aside from the main storyline - though that has not yet been confirmed.

Another big part of the gameplay involves interaction with the NPCs. Rockstar says this game is going to have some of the most realistic character interaction - ever. The characters are going to have hyper-realistic faces, with even more realistic facial expressions. Rockstar says the facial expressions are key to the gameplay - you have to use your own judgment to decide if the characters are telling you the truth when you're interrogating them. You can also accuse characters, threaten them, persuade them... you name it, you can do it.

Rockstar also announced that there will, in fact, be gunplay and lots of action for people who like that sort of thing. Rockstar says the game will cater to fans of all sorts of genres, so if you only play games of a certain genre - don't worry, L.A. Noire will deliver.

Rockstar and Team Bondi did extensive research on the 1940s L.A. scene, as well. They looked at maps of it, crime records of it, and they studied a slew of other things as well so they could remake the perfect L.A. in the game. In fact, some of the crimes in the game are based upon real events that they had found records of.

The game also features a cast of hundreds. The creators are using over 300 actors and actresses to voice characters in L.A. Noire, so you know this is going to big.

I'll give new updates whenever I get them. So far this is all we've heard on L.A. Noire. Will it deliver? From what I've seen, the answer is yes. Rockstar tells us that this is not just a 'Grand Theft Auto' set in 1940 L.A. This is a game of its own, and they hope that it will be a breakthrough in the gaming industry.

I know, I know. The thoughts in your head are reeling. Feel free to ask questions - I'll answer what I can.

Thanks for reading!
