Hey everyone! Welcome to the first ever Game with RUL. In Game with RUL (GWRUL), people from inside and outside the community can get a chance to experience the fun time our community has together. You can even win cool prizes!

Here's how it works:

All you have to do is send a message or friend request to the following community leaders and VIPs. They will then invite you to their game when slots open up.

Note: The coloured statuses below are subject to change at any time and are only representative of the last checked number.

The event will start on Saturday, April 10 at 5:00 PM EST/3:00 PM MST/22.00 GST and end when things start to die down (could be a long haul!).


Important points:

- Do not send any voice messages as they get garbled in Halo 2.
- Make sure you download all of the maps beforehand.
- Wait your turn. The event will be popular so if you don't get an invite right away hold tight.

I will always think and say, it was a terrible idea comming from Xbox to take off Live from Halo 2, Terrible, not just senseless, but stupid and useless, why? They said that they did it to focus more on new comming things, but what? what comming things? i mean, is that even relevant? Are they stupid or something to not be able to think on new stuff and keep the Original Xbox Live system online? Stupid idea, really, im very disappointed about Xbox, though there is no other console i find better, they really screwed in this one. Too bad. -_-

I think that they should simply update Halo 2 to work with 360s Xbox Live....... But then that would be too easy of an answer.

Maybe even offer it as an arcade game (multiplayer only)

Maps take about 1 and a half hours to download to Xbox 360s so when he says beforehand he means like 3:00pm I'm guessing.

Anyways great idea for exposure because with all the people looking to hit Halo 2 up before it leaves Xbox and our site being one of the first to announce a weekend date it will be big I can tell. I will try to get alot of people from Scrims list to come.

They have many reasons for doing it. One might be they are increasing friends list capacity, and things would go horribly wrong if you played an older game with a larger friends list.

I never played that much of online Halo 2, but it was still an awesome game. Count me inwards.

Also, EST is -5 to GMT, so therefore this starts at 10:00pm GMT. Could be a problem for some as that's when people tend to get tired. Still, though, the event will be on for a while. We'll probably wake up and be able to join a game of Halo 2 that's still going on. :)

I have a hand written list of all those willing to game with me. I log all people who send me any form of message pertaining to the event and do not accept the friend requests sent in order to keep them at top for easy access.

Currently I have 16 individuals registed (tentatively) but, do have a waiting list going. Meaning, that if an individual does not show after a given period of time I will move down the list. This also means that if somebody leaves, I will invite a new participant in order to keep the games filled and ongoing.

I am also taking Gametype requests for the night:
Submit Through XBL Message or PM.

3) Settings

This will keep things from getting dull as well as allowing us all to truely feel the impact of the the loss of the game by offering up a chance to play our favorite Halo 2 gametypes for the last time online.

You don't need to worry about friend slots. If someone sends you a message write them in. Make that clear and it'll be fine. Make a written list of names.

Yep, it's up to you. But custom is recommended as you can easily host 16 people. You get to decide who gets the prize.

Hey guys, I'm definitely up for this. I used to play Halo 2 about year and a half ago because I could only afford an Xbox, not a 360. So many good memories of epic custom games, especially with modders - playing yellow brick road is still in my opinion one of the best games I've ever played. Also, the memories of starting a search for big team battle then leaving the xbox for half an hour, then coming back to almost have enough people for a game. It's going to suck to see this go, I'm still hoping the "better things to come" will take the form of full 360 integration for xbox games, as that would be awesome.

If your account isn't on your harddrive (AKA on a memory card instead) it won't work.

I was all set, I was at a friend's house because I we were meeting with advisors so that we could take a summer math course.

His internet was on the fritz though. I notified Green on my Blackberry, then I was able to get online finally for about 30 minutes before the internet went down for the rest of the day.

I'm back at school now, so that is why I have internet now. When I was online, I sent around 26 invites, nobody responded to any so I eventually joined DoubleForte's game before the internet went down.

Think more about what you are saying. The Xbox is long past it's "due date" it is too old. Enjoy the games it had without live. Microsoft isn't going to take off all the live for every game but Halo 2, that would contradict the whole point of taking of original live to begin with. Halo 2 was a great game I agree, but we have many "Halo 2's" in the 4th generation. Besides there is a much deeper meaning than just to focus on new coming things. There are probably several codes and information integrated with the original live and 360 live that needs to be severed.
