Vent (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ventrilo)(rilo) is a program similar to Skype (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skype) where you can chat with people using a computer mic. It is free to use and is often used when playing games to talk instead of type.

I took it upon myself to buy a server for both outlets I help manage. Anywho, a couple of things I want to go over before you go and hop in. This Vent as of now is open to anyone. You can invite your friends and all that jazz. If they happen to misbehave they will get banned and you will be accounted for. If problems keep occurring I will turn this Vent into premium members or invite only.

Vent info:

IP: SHFT.nationvoice.com
Port: 4442
Pass: (no pass)

How to get and login to Vent:

1. Download Vent client program that pertains to you here (http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php).
2. Run .exe
3. Click on the arrow next to name > click new > enter a name
4. Click on the arrow next to server > click new > enter a name (I suggest RUL) > input the information found at the top
5. Click connect.

I added a brief description of what Vent is. What exactly is that you don't get?

Can you be more specific with the rules of your server? Misbehaving as being what exactly? lol.

Just take it as not doing anything you wouldnt do on the forums and you'll be fine :)

Also, this seems pretty cool...
Anyway to integrate it into the site? [?]

Sure, he found someone else's Vent room. Meaning there will constantly be people in it we don't know. I bought a Vent server for RUL so we don't have to share with anybody. So this is like the official Vent.

I'll have the RUL room on the other vent removed. Took me quite a while to get the owner into giving me a room, but hey, you've got your own. =/

Sorry, but it just seems more appropriate to have our own that to be guests on someone else Vent and to be bothering them -- when we can be comfortable in our own.

Incase any of your are still curious. Vent is like an IRC voice chat. Similar to IRC chats and Skype mixed into one. Quite a cool program, props to Sour on setting this up.


Btw; Skypes quality is superb. :P

I downloaded but im at school right now without a mic
