I've been playing TF2 fro about 3 years now and it still hasn't lost it's appeal! It really is the ultimate class based fps. And if you have any questions about TF2, don't hesitate to ask me.

Play Fortress Forever and you will probably throw rocks at tf2. A lot of people that are new to the team fortress community think that tf2 is good, because that is the only team fortress game they have played. But after playing team fortress classic, fortress forever and tf2, I find tf2 to be lacking a lot of stuff.
tf2 is overally balanced, there are not enough capture the flag maps,,,, as a matter of fact, the flag has been replaced with a breifcase,,, come on.
The maps are too small in tf2. What is the deal with the respawn delay,,,, if I wanted to wait to play, I will play counter strike or left 4 dead 2.

I have it, but probably not even have 30 minutes of game time with it. I can't really seem to get into it. Maybe if I play with the lot of you, I can actually enjoy it.
Feel free to add me on Steam: SourNotHardcore

I still can't believe how far they've developed and pushed this fantastic game.
It should be the game of the century if you ask me.

this
certainly up there as a top 5 multiplayer game of all time.
the MANNconomy update sucks though, its turned into hat-trade-warfare-simulator 2.

Agreed. Valve's constant support and updates make it better and better.

Absolutely not - tf2 is a sorry excuse for a multi-player game. Most of the people that say tf2 is great, have never played any other team fortress game.
If you think tf2 is great, go play Fortress Forever. After you do, you will be throwing rocks at tf2.

I used to love this game...
Only now returned back to it, and seriusly whats up with all the hats and etc?
People begging me at times, for certain items or whats not.
Has TF2 down graded with the latest updates, like a merchandise market festival ?
Ah well, perhaps it is just my luck and the first few games that I got into the other day

No need for Flaming,
but i wouldn't say top 5 but it's pretty popular to be honest.

tf2 turned to **** once they introduced trading and the MANNconomy.
the game is definitely one of the best multiplayer games out there, but the community has just taken the biggest dive I've ever seen. it's almost as bad as the CoD community.

I will admit, I bought a hat during the christmas sale because it was a buck, but that's it. Not to advertise, but I know a great bunch of guys that host a server out of Canada that host a ton of great maps and mods. I can give out the IP address if anyones interested.

by the way, trading rarely ever is even mentioned in this server. Keep it clean.http://images-cdn01.associatedcontent.com/image/A3661/366153/300_366153.jpg

You can't trade anything that's been bought or craft so i dont see how it did that. I say we need to have a big rul thing for tf2 that would be most enjoyable

I agree. I like the whole economy thing as long as people aren't bothering me in the heat of battle about what hats I have.

I do my trading when I'm not playing (If I ever actually do it) the use of websites that can organize trades between people make it so easy that you don't have to trade in battle. Even the hype of trading has turned into a hype now. THE DEMOPAN

Demopan indeed. Tf2 is a tad cluttered now. Still one of my favorite games of all time :D. I play waaaayyyy to many hours of it each week.

sadly, it is only going to get worse and will stay that way until the end.
its really a shame that valve decided to add the excessive amount of hats and weapons.
I remember everyone was so excited for trading to come out. Now it has, and its really crippled tf2 :(

I really have to disagree there I play on servers where if you afk for more then 120 seconds you get moved to spectator and I find trading has made me more then a few friends I quite like the trading.

moving afk people to spectator has been around since before TF2, with pretty much every source multiplayer game.
sure you can meet people via trading, but it doesn't change the fact that it's literally almost impossible to join a random pub without people screaming trade offers.
the sheer amount of hats/weapons is one of the things that gets to me. We should have stayed with individual class updates and the first two waves of hats. Now I can't even name a fourth of the weapons that have been introduced in the past few months.

If Valve wouldn't have implemented the trade system and hats, the game would probably be dead.

Joining random pubs does have it's advantages, but settling down with a good server that doesn't encourage trade spam is highly recommended if you want to focus on gameplay.

No? TF2 had like 20k people playing at a time before trading. It would DEFINITELY still be alive even if trading wasn't implemented.
