Heh cool. I'm curious to see how they attach it to the 360. Hopefully it'll look less junky than the HD DVD player did.

Doesn't seem like Microsoft is planning to add Blu-ray for the 360. This is confirmed by Aaron Greenberg:
"Xbox is not currently in talks with Sony or the Blu-ray Association to integrate Blu-ray into the Xbox experience," Greenberg told Reuters in an interview.
The Xbox division is putting all its effort on digital downloads, which offer a profit Blu-ray Disc movies won't provide at all to the software giant.
"We're the only console offering digital distribution of entertainment content," emphasized Greenberg.

I don't believe that website :( I wish I could, but some many other website contradict it.
What the website actually says... down at the very bottom of their writings, is:
"What wasn't clear though was whether Microsoft would finally go with the Blu-ray format. The latest admission from the company clears that confusion."
In other words, they have no idea if microsoft is "going blu-ray" as the title of the article claims. Microsoft is going to make windows compatible with it, not much more than that.
The difference between HD-DVD and Blu-ray, was mainly disk space, blu-ray being capable of having more space on each layer. HDDVD was cheaper to produce, and could provide combo disks for movies. Many of the hd-dvd's produced worked on regular dvd players, this perhaps was hd-dvds best feature that many didn't know about. HD-DVD also featured alot more interactivity that could of been expanded upon greatly.
HD-DVDs would of been better for consumers... cheaper and more features, blu-ray, more space to play around with but more expensive, and less features.
Blu-ray did add more features after launching, which people could get by updating their firmware, but will the studios support features that many people don't have because they were early adopters, we'll find out in the future :).
In the end... back room deals between Sony, Toshiba, and the Movie studios ended the war... not giving choice to the people that will actually be buying the movies, but thats just business I suppose...
The battle is now between Blu-ray and good old fashioned DVD's which will continue outselling it for years to come(Maybe forever?), and hopefully by then digital downloads are much more common, not to mention cheaper in many parts of the world(Such as Canada.).
Hope everyone enjoyed reading my long wonderful final thoughts on the subject ;)8-).

What did I say?
Last time I checked this isnt the Xbox Forums...and dont mistaken me for a fanboy, that would be a huge lie...I own all three consoles and love them all equally...just look at my freakin gamerscore...
Anyone who isnt a fanboy (or blind) can easily see the PS3 will go alot further (graphically and technically) than the 360...Sony said that they built the PS3 to last 10 years...theres talk of the PS4 just being an add-on to the PS3...they also support user created content..which is one step closer to closing the gap between PC and Console gaming.
So no, I wount apologize...I never said the 360 was crap...it just peaked to early...think about it...it wouldnt even be this good if it wasnt for Epic convincing Microsoft to beef up the console so it could run Gears...and Gears is out...what does that say about it?

Not that I want to continue your arguement, but... every story has another side.
"Sony said", "Bob marley said they shot the sheriff" etc. which of those is more believable, Who cares/ it doesn't matter is my point.
Both consoles are very very even... one company may say theirs is better, but in reality both have flaws that limit them. The flaw that will hold the ps3 back is its memory/ram, the 360, will be its lack of mandatory hard drive. Both of these even each other out, and neither will go further than the other... first party titles are always going to look better than third party titles because they are made for the console exclusively. Gears of war for xbox... metal gear for the ps3... they are of course going to both blow each other away in terms of graphics as you pointed out. One coming out alot later than the other has its only natural as they have put alot more time into developing it. Both systems are good, and the games are as good as the developers are going to make them, not what the system specifics will allow.
I like arguments.. but this topic can be argued either way, which makes it pointless.

Woah...Fyronik...you completely miss-interpreted what I said...
You made it sound like I was picking sides. Im not argueing that one console is over-all superior than others. My last paragraph should have clarified that. All Im saying is that the PS3 has more potential down the line when it comes to the looks of games. Gears of War isnt a first party title...its second party.
The 360 has peaked...The mere fact that its becuase of Gears of War that the 360 can even run games like it shows this. If Microsoft wouldnt have listened to epic when they asked them to "beef" up their console, where would we be right now? Becuase we wouldnt have Gears of War...the 360 wouldnt be able to support it.
Your absolutely right when you say that the consoles are almost even when it comes to 3rd party games...its the fist party that allows the console to truly show off what its capable of. Your also right when you said that all 3 have their ups and downs (and its for that reason that I hate fanboys...and thats also why I own all 3). One of the 360's downs is that it peaked early in the graphical department (which isnt a bad thing...just goes to show how easy it is to develop for it)...the PS3 has far greater potential in this area than the 360...but remember...graphics arnt everything...the Wii is living proof of that.

Legend of myth
The PS3 is hard to develop games for because of its cell processor thats why 360 gets so many more games, it is just so easy to develop games for it, this mere fact may mean that PS3's true potential will never be unleashed or it will be unleashed by only high budget games (like God of War, Final Fantasy etc)

Wow...what does it matter. Its not like you are going to have to pick a console to save your life at one point or another.

I give up with you guys...your turning this into an arguement...now Im going to defend myself
I never said ANYTHING about developing for specific consoles...so Gandhi, your sorta taking my stuff out of context...I would appreciate it if you didnt. There is no arguement here! Im not picking sides...Im not saying ones more superior than the other! Im saying all 3 have there ups and downs...and the console can only show its true power with first party titles...this is the PS3's advantage...
Stop trying to defend the 360...I never said I hated it...I love it to death! (looks at gamerscore)...its peaked in graphics...but its still far more superior in other areas (online)...just like the PS3 has more potential technically (NOTICE HOW I SAID POTENTIAL...LOOK IT UP)...and the Wii is just freakin amazing (regardless of specs)...so please...for the love of god...stop being fanboys...
PS ~ Gandhi...your last sentence contradicted itself...how can you tell the future?
Take a look at these two screens...
http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/xbox360/747891/images/gears-of-war-20061107035023862.html
and
http://ps3.ign.com/dor/final-fantasy-xiii/826843/images/final-fantasy-xiii-20061007021934284.html
Theres two BIG Budget titles for you...both exclusive to different consoles...Gears of War only runs on the 360 becuase epic convinced Microsoft to upgrade the 360 before launch...so it was built with Gears in mind...FFXIII isnt out yet...its still in development...they both have different art styles, but if we look at other aspects (resolution, models etc.) you can see which looks better...
Yes, its alot harder to develop for the PS3...I believe thats one of the advantages for the 360 (AND I STATED IT IN MY LAST COMMENT...makes me wonder if you even read it Gandhi)...
Lastly...the comment about the 360 getting more games than the PS3...thats a load of crap...the PS3 was out 1 year after the 360...of course it has more titles...but every 3rd party title (all the major ones) are heading to both consoles...this isnt the PS3 launch anymore...THERE ARE TITLES COMING OUT...infact, the PS3 has more titles coming out for it this year than the 360...and it has more than twice the exclusives...AND its outselling the 360 on a monthly basis now...
After all is said and done, Im going to state that I love all consoles equally...but I cant stand it when fanboys come in blindly stating crap about stuff that they dont understand...the PS3 may not be for everyone, but it sure as hell isnt a bad console...
