Earlier today Nintendo Of America President Reggie Fils-Aime announced a new aggressive price point to move the console, one that would cut the price of the console 33%. The price cut effective on Aug 12th would change the now priced $250 3DS to a much more marketable $170. Along with this announcement, it was also noted that any early adopter of the handheld would essentially be rewarded with 20 free pre-determined eShop games. The titles in question include Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong JR., The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid Fusion. The 10 NES titles will be available to all purchasers free of charge, however as part of the 'i'm sorry you paid $80 extra' plan the other 10 GB/GBA titles will be exclusive to users who bought the console prior to the price cut date.

What do you think of Nintendos new strategy? Do you think this will make them more able to combat the Vita handheld or is this simply a long line of misfortunes for them this handheld cylcle?
