I need to get over the fact that Ian McKellen looks older than he did in LOTRs even though this story happened many years before the Fellowship.

Also, we should all read the book before December!

You mean REREAD, right? :P Wait, there are still people out there who haven't read The Hobbit at least once? Blasphemy!

Actually, I haven't read it since I was a kid. I remember watching the animated movie so freaking much. I should reread it too!

Right. And it is a easy read really. Much easier than LOTRs. I forgot about the animated movie. That was terrible in a wonderful way.

I just really like Tolkien is my point. Also Peter Jackson. I hope Sean Bean finds some way of making it into the movie and dying.

Fun Gandolf fact: Ian McKellen does the voice of Gandolf in the old voice animated series. I own it on cassette.

He's not. There a bunch of articles saying he won't be in it, and, plus, it wouldn't make much sense considering his character's not in the book. :\

At least put him in there as Lord Stark, It would be the best cameo ever.

Im gonna be honest I never read the books except for the Hobbit graphic novel and I must say I did enjoy it to quite some extent.

The only LOTR book I've read was The Hobbit. I tried the others and quit pretty early on.

I've read The Hobbit and Fellowship. Since Fellowship took so long I'm not sure when I'll be able to make myself read The Two Towers. Not that it being long is a bad thing. It's definitely not filler; all the information expands the world and add to it. Just not your casual reading material.

Personally, with the exception of The Hobbit, I don't like the writing style of LOTR. That is partly because it was quite a few years ago, so my attention span was, presumably, much lower. But mostly I didn't enjoy them because it felt overly confusing. Like there was too much information being thrown at me at once. But, like I said before, it was many years ago and I'm not sure how much of a roll that played.

Most definitely not written for our ADHD generation. Also he likes to use the word queer to describe things as weird. It's kinda funny.

I use the word queer in place of weird if the situation presents itself.

Well, considering that's what 'queer' means, I'm not surprised.

I think he was pointing that out because the word's usage has very much changed.

My thoughts on the subject.

Edit: Did not realize this but coincidentally Stephen Fry is in the Hobbit.
