10 excuses to avoid school/work for the Halo Reach Beta

It's now only a short few days before the Halo Reach Beta goes live, but I realised something today which was a little disheartening - May the 3rd is actually a Monday.
This prompted me to scream to the heavens in a moment eerily reminiscent of a scene from Romeo and Juliet -
"Did I defy you stars?!!!"
Monday is a week day... on week days people work and go to school. What kind of madness is this???
I wallowed in my sadness and disbelief for a while, before realising that I am not alone in facing this dilemma. Millions the world over will be dealing with the very same problem come the 3rd of May - the all important question of "What excuse can I make up to get me out of my obligations for today?"

With that in mind, I decided to stop wallowing and actually do something about it, and so I present to you now, 10 excuses to get you out of work or school for the Reach Beta.


1. "My car broke down". (Don't mention it's a Warthog, and that it just got lasered).

2. "My best friend just passed away and I'm too distraught to come in today". (Don't mention that your best friend respawned beside you ten seconds later).

3. "Someone broke into my place and stole some stuff. I really have to get this sorted out". (Don't mention that it was a flag).

4. "A gang of kids broke into my place and trashed the joint. I have to clean up". (Don't mention they also planted a bomb).

5. "I was assaulted today and I need to go file an official statement" (Don't mention the assault involved teabagging, and that the "statement" you are filing is choosing to "avoid player").

6. "I'm having really bad chest pains, I don't think I can make it today" (Don't mention it's because a sticky grenade just went off).

7. "I was out of town, and my flight has been cancelled". (Don't mention it's a Banshee and someone just jacked it).

8. "I have really bad back pains. Owee owee oww" (Don't mention it's just because you're getting used to using your jetpack).

9. "I have Jury Duty" (Don't mention you're also the Judge and Executioner, and it's simply a slayer match).

And

10. "The Reach Beta goes live today. What's that? You aren't going into work/school either? Yeah I'll play with you, what's your gamertag?"

lol anyway what about,

I don't feel comfortable coming into work today, there are these shaddy looking idividuals stalking outside, they keep coming by every few minutes and I really don't want to take the chance.

Don't mention that those shaddy idividuals are really the red team and they are outside your sniper post.
