Bing, a Microsoft internet search engine, recently updated their experimental Bing Rewards program to include Microsoft Points. Bing Rewards is a promotional service that rewards you for loyalty in using Microsoft's search engine.
According to Bing, earning credits is a simple process:
"Sign up for the Bing Rewards Preview, take advantage of offers to earn credits and then redeem those credits for rewards. Offers may include searching on Bing, setting your homepage to Bing or trying out new features of Bing. Once you have enough credits to redeem for a reward, access the Redemption Center to select from a wide variety of rewards. Shipping is free!"
To get free Microsoft Points, you need to collect 100 Bing credits. For every 100 Bing credits that you earn, they may be exchanged for 100 Microsoft Points. There's currently an offer which involves installing the Bing toolbar into Internet Explorer; simply installing the bar will earn you a free 250 Bing credits. Those can instantly be traded in for 200 Microsoft Points, and get you halfway to earning 100 more.
This offer is currently only available in the United States and only on a Windows system with Internet Explorer 7 or above. There is no word on if Microsoft intends to expand this program, but if they do you will be the first to know.
