My quick fix idea is to just borrow your friend's xbox and use a system link if you really need your machinama to focus on more than four people in a relaxed state. Otherwise I'm sure there is a camera trick or two to use.

I didn't go into a full explanation in the introduction above, but allowing a button combination to lower you weapon in online play allows for the introduction of "cheats", such as using the BXR combo in Halo 2, where you can introduce a faster reload by lowering your weapon and bringing it back up, or some other similar advantage over another player that does not know about the unintended button combo. I imagine that they are keeping it out of Reach's online play simply to level the playing field, so that the person who is good at BXR doesn't have any playing advantage over someone who doesn't know the combination. You can imagine what would happen to Reach if people were to program their custom controllers with a button combo that would give them an advantage in a fair fight and what kind of headache that would introduce to online play... it would literally change the game, and Bungie is doing us all a favor by avoiding any possibility of someone taking advantage of that.
Excellent info guys!

Are you sure that this is correct? The combo should go switch grenade button, reload, right thumb stick, and then d-pad down. I use recon so the first two buttons should be switched in your display. It literally took me an hour to find out why it wasn't working. lol
