Good article. Me and a buddy were talking about this a while back and thought it'd be best to simply take it out of competitive playlists and leave it for customs and what-not but your suggestions sound very valid. I especially like the no double locking and tweaking the shield dropping effect ideas.

I feel that pickups were more useful than armor abilities simply because you knew what to expect. Now there are too many variables to include and it makes the game too hectic and crazy.

I can see why you feel this way.

Pickups added a different kind of strategy that I liked. Not everyone had "super" powers and even the guy who did only had it once or twice in a match for a limited time. Like I said before I loved it what I knew 1 guy was invisible....especially when i was that 1 guy.
