RUL FU: Points!

Hello RUL and welcome to this weeks exciting Friday Update.

At last the moment you have all been waiting for has come. The points are here! You can now start earning points by simply doing the same things you do around RUL on a daily basis. Another way to get points is to be a premium member; they get a weekly pay-cheque of 100 points. With those points you can visit the RUL Plaza Market and buy some fun things for yourself or you can spend your points buying gifts for other RUL members. You could also put your RUL Points in the bank and earn some interest. Oh, and of course, there is a scoreboard. You can watch as we all fight over that coveted richest member spot. I could go on and in depth about everything, but it'll be fun for you all to explore and try to figure things out by yourselves. If you have any dire questions feel free to post them here.

Moving on... the Halo Reach RULTACULAR is tomorow, be there or be a square. Yeah, you heard me right, be a 4 equal length sided shape if you don't show up! Can you imagine the horror!? but seriously, it should be great fun, so if you think you can make it try to show up.

Now for a message from our lovely community manager.

Hey everyone! I have to say, it is definitely nice to finally have some time to sit down and write something for the Friday Update again. However, I will attempt to keep this short and sweet. As some of you may have noticed, community events have become way more frequent around here! It’s not easy to setup and host RUL Nights every weekend so we should all give a big thanks to everyone else on staff, because they’ve really stepped up to the plate with helping me host these nights. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to have so many awesome RUL Nights to look forward to.

On top of RUL Nights, I’m also starting something called RUL Arcade Nights. If you haven’t had the chance to check out THIS THREAD yet, perhaps you should click the link and give some input as to what games you would like to play for these nights. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled, because I will be starting up these nights in the very near future, and I’m really excited! (which means you should probably be excited as well)

The last thing I wanted to go over was something that Rebel talked about a couple of weeks ago. We have all these awesome new tabs on the top of RUL now, and the Community drop-down tab is probably one of the most resourceful tools. With the community tab you have the option to click on the calendar, which will show you birthdays and anything else that staff members have added to the calendar. From now on, we’ll be adding events to the calendar so that you can see them and use it as a reminder as to when our community nights will be.

When you click on each specific event, it will even bring you to a page with all the basic information for that night and the different hosts you can message on live so you can get an invite to the game.

On the specific day of the event you can also find a reminder down at the bottom of the forum page in the “What’s Going On?” section. All of these things will be great tools for you to use, so that you can always be reminded of what is going on here at RUL.

What an excellent piece of advice up there. We're trying to make it as easy as possible for you to stay in the loop about what's up, so use these tools to stay on top of all of the future RUL events. As a side note I have to say, it always rocks to get birthday wishes in the form of visitor messages, so you should try your hand at sending some out if you see a birthday of someone you know.

So about the podcast, we haven't forgotten. We've just been busy trying to make sure this point system is up to snuff. I can't promise you a podcast will be coming soon, but i can promise we'll be getting you some information on it.

Along with that, yup that awards page is still broke. We're looking as hard as possible for an easy solution, though it looks like we're going to have to re-install the whole thing. We'll tell you if we do so you don't worry about all of those missing awards.

Hey, hey, hey! KillerOfCereal here and still rocking these Friday Updates for all of you to enjoy! So if you haven’t heard already, ReadyUpLive will be hosting an RUL Night taking place on Halo: Reach tomorrow night beginning at 5 P.M. EST! All the information is here

Since we have some time before Reach night begins, I would like to know if anyone has any maps that you think is Halo: Reach RUL Night worthy. If you have a map that meets the criteria shoot me a message on Xbox Live or on ReadyUpLive so we can play-test it.

So how about the new Points System? Who knew that being active on ReadyUpLive could be so rewarding? I for one can't wait to try out the market!
