July RULer of the Month: all else failed

You can find our next RULer of the month surpassing some of your scores in the RUL Arcade or having fun on Xbox Live. Make sure to take note of his avatar's shades because our July RULer of the Month really is that cool. Everyone give a big congrats to all else failed!!

So a couple weeks back I hinted to you about becoming a RULer of the month until I finally told you the good news a couple days later. Was I right in assuming that you seemed pretty excited?
all else failed- Oh I was very excited! It’s quite an honor considering all the cool people who contribute to the site regularly. To be honored in front of such an awesome community is really humbling.

It’s been a little over a year since you’ve joined RUL and I know there’s always a lot going on around here, but do you have a favorite thing about the site?
all else- A favorite thing? Hmmm. Well, originally I just loved the excellent resources on all things Halo. But after spending some time in the forums I got to know certain people and was impressed by the friendliness of them all. So my favorite thing about RUL is the people: friendly, knowledgeable, and just plain rad. Shout out to ic3 c01d, Ganner, deadman, and the one and only Zolner MD!

It seems like a lot of people sign up for various reasons, but was there anything specific that got you to join?
all else- Same as most people who joined in the Spring of 2010, Greenskulls’s Reach Beta Randomtage. It was hilarious and watching it made me want to party up with kids like that. Then I saw there was this whole community of cool people…so I was hooked.

Well you’re not alone with that! The Reach Randomtage definitely got me to sign up too. Time for all those fun video game questions! If you could trade places with any video game character for a day, who would it be?
all else- This is actually harder to answer than you would think…hmmm…I will say the stereotypical Master Chief. I know, I know. No one else has been my most played character for the last ten years…so why not!

What was your first console?
all else- NES. Still have it. As the story goes my Mom told my brother and I that video games were bad for us and we thought for sure we would never get it. Then Christmas came, and Santa didn’t let us down! Christmas morning I walked out into the living room and there on the TV was Mario jumping all around. Still to this day it was one of the most memorable moments of my childhood. Great times playing Mario, Duck Hunt, Double Dribble, Tiger Heli, Bugs Bunny Birthday Bash…

What’s your favorite arcade game?
all else- I really enjoyed LIMBO. Just so well done. But I have spent waay too many hours playing Marble Blast Ultra.

Limbo is definitely an enjoyable game. Hahah I still need to work on finishing it. So, what game has your favorite single player campaign?
all else- I’m going to have to say Fallout 3, but Fable 3 comes in close second.

How about favorite multiplayer game?
all else- Easy: Halo 3. I love Reach but am still waiting for the nostalgia to set in.

I completely get what you’re saying. Halo 3 was just amazing. Do you have any other favorite games from different consoles?
all else- I only play 360 now, but back in the day I was a huge Tony Hawk Pro Skater fan on PS1.

There are a ton of new games coming out this year. Which ones are you most excited for?
all else- Halo CE remake will be sweet. But to keep things interesting I will say Rayman: Orgins!

Hahaha. So, ever have any incredibly funny moments happen on Live?
all else- You know I’m really the kid who likes to sit back and relax on Live, so I don’t really antagonize people or start crazy conversations or anything. Probably the most fun I’ve had is Halo 3 Custom Games though. Teaming up with some of those crazy kids is so much fun and makes the hours late at night fly by so fast.

Favorite thing about Xbox Live?
all else- Well it is an all encompassing entertainment system. I love the combination of entertainment options: online gaming, Netflix, ESPN 3, chatting with friends, etc. Who needs expensive cable when you have Xbox Live.

I know that you have a family, so do you think in the future that you’ll sit back and game with your kids?
all else- Haha. I hope so. I plan on being in my 50’s or 60’s and still gaming with my grandkids. It will be a lot of fun to have a great way of hanging out and relating with my kids when they get older. I look forward in a few years buying the latest Pixar game or the next generation Wii so we can play together.

I’m sure that’ll be a lot of fun and a great way to bond with one another. Alright I think it’s time for some different questions! What’s your favorite color?!
all else- Viridian Green (Wiki it)

*Goes to wiki* Oh, I like that color! What kind of music do you like to listen to?
all else- All kinds. Lately its been Moby, Ray Lamontagne, Modest Mouse, Flogging Molly, Zao, etc.

Some good choices there! So I know it can get pretty hot out West over there; how do you handle that kinda heat though?
all else- I stay inside. LOL. I mean, when it’s 110 with little shade and extremely bright, dry, and dusty staying inside is the way to go. I’m not a fan of Las Vegas heat at all.

Alright so I have a couple awesome questions from some other lovely staff members for you…..

Killer- Why are you so good at the RUL arcade?
all else- HA! I try really really hard to be good at the RUL arcade only to fall second best over and over again to BluDRAGUN. I love the competition though.

Spillanya- Who’s your favorite superhero?
all else- Batman with Ironman a close second.

Alright, back to all my random questions! Where would you go on vacation if you could go anywhere in the world?
all else- I have had a chance to travel a bit in my life and I’d say I would love to go back to Europe. So much history and ancient beauty. Specifically the Italian country side.

Do you ever watch any sports? If so, what’s your favorite to watch?
all else- Yes sometimes. I watch NFL some on TV in the fall. I love to hang out with friends at a live Baseball game though. A great time to catch up with a friend you haven’t seen in awhile.

Live Baseball games are always a lot of fun with friends! What’s your favorite holiday?
all else- Christmas. See: NES story!

Hahah well that makes sense. Do you have any hobbies besides gaming?
all else- This may sound funny but I like doing yard work. LOL. Specifically gardening is something I’ve got into in the last year or so. Also exercising but I don’t do it enough.

I figured with all the positive feedback you bring, to all the fellow members on the site, that one day you would receive recognition for it all.
