Hello everyone! As you may have noticed I’m taking over this weeks’ RUL Friday Update for Rebel while he’s on vacation. So hopefully this will be just as good as they usually are! I’m happy to say things have been going quite well on the site lately. Community events have been a lot more frequent and it’s nice to see everyone gaming together more often. Our newest staff member, Ye Olde Apple, has been doing a great job of capturing these nights and creating videos so everyone can feel like they were there with us. Overall, it's great to see how active everyone has been! Keep it up RULers!
Here is the part where I announce something that many of you will enjoy. I know in the past we’ve had Orange Fridays where a good amount of us got together to play Team Fortress 2 on the Xbox. Many of you have voiced your opinions about playing TF2 for the PC. After lots of thought, and it being released for free on Steam, I have decided that at some point in the future we will have an Orange Friday night on the PC. I don’t have an exact time or date, but it will happen. Rejoice PC gamers!
On to some other thrilling news! So our first ever RUL Arcade Night starts tomorrow and I am beyond excited for it. After looking at everyone’s responses in the Speak your Mind thread about it, I decided to choose Castle Crashers as our first game, because let’s be honest, it’s a lot of fun. Thankfully we have a bunch of awesome staff members helping me out tomorrow night so that we can have four lobbies for the game. I hope to see a lot of you there!
Some of you may have noticed a post made by Null Parameter regarding the Halo Charity Community Marathon. Here is the Promo video for this community marathon…
I’m happy to announce that RUL will be participating in this event! Myself, Rebel Rouser, and possibly a couple other staff members have been put on the list of Hosts available throughout next weekend. On the website for the event you will find a list of available people that are hosting various lobbies on Halo: Reach. Make sure you guys send a message to any available host throughout the weekend and get in on all the fun! Plenty of information can be found in This Thread and on This Site. I hope everyone is as excited as I am for next weekend!
Time to talk about all that cool social stuff associated with RUL! For those of you who have Twitter account and are following @ReadyUpLive on there, you may have noticed all the fun questions being tweeted by the RUL account. Our Social Media Coordinater, Avcracy, seriously comes up with some great questions that I know a lot of us enjoy replying to. When you have the chance, make sure to respond because we love reading all your crazy and fun answers. If you don’t already have a twitter account, you should definitely consider creating one so you can get in on all the crazy goodness.
Every week we try to give you guys a little helpful tip so that you can learn something new about the site. I’m sure a lot of you see the various colors that staff members have on RUL. But, maybe you’re not quite sure exactly what their “title” is. Well, there happens to be a nifty little link on the bottom of the forums page called "View Site Leaders."
That link will take you to a page where you can see all the Staff Members and their titles, the VIPs, Affiliates of the site, as well as all the Premium Members. So if you’re ever wondering, “Why is her name pink and what does she do?” you can go to that page and find out!
Well I think that's about all that I have for you guys today! Happy Friday and I look forward to seeing a bunch of you tomorrow night on Castle Crashers! I'll leave you all with a video of these twins breaking it down on the Wii.
