Oh hey there, and welcome to this weeks edition of the article that everybody loves! Written by yours truly, with the help of Start a Riot The Ready Up Live Friday Update.
Right off the bat I want to remind you about the Charity Marathon that Ready Up Live is partaking in. You can join Start a Riot, Drax, Kathanis, myself, or any number of the wonderful hosts that you can find here in partaking in the Halo Community Marathon. Each hour of time you spend helps raise awareness, and makes you eligible to win prizes in a raffle. I will be personally hosting later tonight, and sunday if you would like to join me.
All donations will go to child's play, an organization that works to make children's stays in hospitals more enjoyable. They donate things such as books, games and money to these hospitals. To learn more about Child's Play, click here. Each dollar you donate gives you with a ticket to a secondary large item raffle. You can donate by heading here, the same place where you can find the list of hosts.
I'd like to thank anyone who donates, or joins in this weekend to raise awareness! By doing such you'e supporting a great cause, Thank you.
Now that we've covered that I have wonderful news! The awards page has been fixed, without the loss of any information. You can finally check out the awards and their meanings again by clicking here. You'll also notice that we've added it to the community drop down menu for your future ease.
Avatar Kinect. I'm sure you've heard of it, right? Well I'm pleased to announce, that there will be a new RUL centered talk series taking place on it. Hosted by Myself, and the lovely Start a Riot. I could go on and on, but for now here's our first episode!
Now for a message from my co-host, and your Community Manager Start a Riot.
Next up, *shuffles notes* Uh... Well.. That's.. Unusual... Things are going so smoothly that I have absolutely nothing else to reveal at this time. Guess that means it's time for this week's Tip of the Week.Ohey everyone! Because I enjoyed writing the Friday Update so much last week, I figured I would add a little something for this week too! So last weekend we had our first ever RUL Arcade Night, and let me tell you, it was a ton of fun! We had two separate lobbies going, and from the looks of Ye Olde Apple’s video, it looked like the other lobby had just as much fun as ours did. Needless to say, I’m really looking forward to having another one of these nights in the near future!
On to another exciting topic! If any of you have taken a gander at the calendar for this month you may have noticed an extremely important day coming up. That’s right, I’m talking about August 26th, otherwise known as RUL Day! For those of you who don’t know what RUL Day is, it’s the anniversary of RUL’s founding. As always there will be a lot of exciting things going on that day, but most of that will remain a surprise until the actual day. One thing you can count on is the fact that we will be gaming all day and hosting lobbies on several different games throughout the day. So I suggest you stock up on energy drinks and coffee from now, because I can promise you’ll want to be awake for everything!
Lastly, I just wanted to reiterate what myself and Rebel discussed in our video. We definitely want your guys’ suggestions on a name for the shows we’ll be posting. I know a lot of you are quite creative, so I’m sure you’ll be able to come up with something catchy!
Well folks, that’s all I’ve got for you today! I hope everyone is enjoying his or her weekend! Riot… out!
p.s. keep your eyes peeled for a post on our next RUL Night!
Okay, this weeks tip is a nice simple one. I'll be explaining how you can mark all forums read.
Step one. Click the "What's New" button along the top of RUL. This will bring you to the "What's New?" page where you can check out all of the new posts, group messages, events, and articles. The "What's New?" tool is hugely useful tool in itself, if you don't use it I highly recommend checking it out.
Step two. Click the "Mark All Forums Read" button.
It's as simple as one two, use it whenever you can't find the sneaky hidden thread that's making a specific forum section light up with it's new message colour.
To end this off, my Apologies that this update came out so late, we were having some major issues with Avatar Kinect's video format. Aside from that, have a safe and happy weekend RUL.
