Blank Launching [(Halo 2) Headlong Bus Launching]

Back in August, DWT Productions celebrated it's 5th anniversary. On that occasion, we began going back through our library of videos and re-edit them, and re-release slightly-less-terrible versions of our mostly-terrible collection. Thus, "Project: Remastered" was born.

Hopefully that's enough to clear up why I'm posting an '06 video, re-released in '11.

Also, being an '06 video: The quality is pretty 'meh', and the video itself is of lesser content-quality than what we try to put together now.

Blank Launching was DWT's first video, and the start of our tricking journey that continues to this day. The method itself is fairly straightforward; deloading the bus, putting the wraith in the bus spawn, spawning the bus, then using the touch of a player to force the bus out of the wraith. It produced some fairly cool results, the best (filmed) of which are displayed in the videos. Also, a tutorial is included below, even though it's unlikely that anyone would care enough to dust off XBC to try it out.

Very spiffy stuff but this does bring up the question: How did people figure this out? It just seems very obscure to do all that in order to launch yourself.

Eh...that's cool and all, but I'd much rather be spending my gaming time doing other stuff. Like matchmaking, forging, or campaign. I get bored sooooo easily when people ask me to do this stuff with them. I guess I'm just more of a competitive gamer.

How did people figure this out?

I had an extensive answer to this, but I was rambling, so I'll keep it very short: It's what we do. You just kind of know in general what you're going for, and if all else fails, trial and error.

It just seems very obscure to do all that in order to launch yourself.

A bit, yes; but that's because it's intended use was as a bus launching method, the launching of other objects/players was just a bonus. Also, after the initial setup there's very little to do for a reset, and it can be reset and ready for a new launch every 20 seconds or so.

Man, do I miss tricking like that.

That's pretty much the exact thought process of us towards 'normal' gaming.
