Portal 2 (Help)

I just downloaded Portal 1 and 2 from steam. Portal runs great, but Portal 2 does not. There are no in-game voices such as, Wheatley, Cave, Glados. The shooting of the portal gun does not make the right noise either, it make a werid annoying sound. I game on my laptop, (that might be one of the reasons) it runs other games without problems. If you know how to fix this please tell me. Thanks.

Hmmm, my only advice would be to completely uninstall Portal 2 and then reinstall. That happened to me when I installed Back to the Future the first time, but a reinstall fixed the problem. If it doesn't work, then I have no idea.

yeah do what spill did but first try to defragment cache files, I always do this before I play new games, also if you do this to old games it will make them run better.

I also checked from the steam support and what I know is that this is not something usual so the problem is most likely something gone wrong in the installation.
