My theory is that it never existed and it's just part of the human psyche's fascination with the fourth dimension: time. What makes time go? I still have vague memories of a dream/TV show like this. I think it was only a dream. It would still be cool if he found it.

I think the whole idea of a much more powerful being taking you to a different place and showing you strange things is something common in human history. Certain Gaelic myths, alien abductions and dreams all share this theme.
