It is a blight upon the internet, one which will effect everyone; no one in the world is safe from the censorship that will take place due to these acts. If you are in United Sates of America, we strongly encourage you to contact your representatives of both the House and Senate to tell them how wrong, and flawed SOPA and PIPA are.

so did anyone get to vote on this law or did they get it trough in complete silence? My internet provider censored piratebay but I can still use it if I use a proxy. My internet provider is also against the censorship but they had no choise for now.

As nice as that is to hear, it almost makes me more worried. Since that part is dropped, the bill may pass easier and then, later down the road, that section will try to get passed. And, if SOPA is already passed, bills with things like DNS blocking will be passed easier.

Hopefully this is the first sign of victory over SOPA.
