Skyrim Sides of the Civil War

Now with Skyrim having been out of a little, and everyone having played the game I was curious as to which side of the civil war RULers sided with.

So are you a supporter of the Stormcloaks, or are you loyal to the Empire?

State which side you favour and why? I'd like to see the reasoning people have on the conflict and get a better view of it.

Note: Spoiler Warning as some areas on quests and story may be revealed in this thread.

I've mostly already chosen a side that I prefer but I'll leave that and the reasoning till later in the thread

I went with the Empire. I understand that most Nords are pissed because of different races moving to their homeland and that the Thalmor banned the worshipping of Talos, but equality is above all... and I don't believe the Thalmor and The Empire will be good friends in the near future.

Empire. I've nasty things about the Stormclocks. After hearing all these things I decide on empire.

Honestly, I'd rather not choose since the Stormcloaks are pretty racist but, the Empire are tyrants. I'd have to choose the Stormcloaks because I am a fan of the revolution. General Tullius is an A hole and wimp. Also because... Spoiler Below
(Highlight to reveal) The last true Emperor died at the end of Oblivion. Or at least the bloodline.

Another edition is, They may be racist but, that's there land. They don't want to end up like the Native Americans. That's there land, they want to keep it for themselves. I am all for equality, trust me.

the empire is a straight up tyrannical rule and the stormcloaks have some pretty extreme left-winged views.

so i didn't choose either but if a rational person had to choose, i think it should be the stormcloaks

I went with the Stormcloaks, but the more I helped them, the more I wished I wasn't. They are extremely, and unnecessarily, racist and proud of it. However, the Empire is no better. After signing the White-Gold Concordat (I believe that is the name), the treaty with the Thalmor, the Empire deserves a revolution and to be kicked out of Skyrim. I really do wish that the Stormcloaks were better people, or at least that the leaders were. Ulfric is an asshole and I really wanted to betray him while still kicking out the Empire. But I suppose if Bethesda had made the Stormcloaks really good people fighting oppression, not many people would have sided with the Empire.

definitely. i think the civil war part of skyrim is the most impressive story aspect of the entire game.
